A Golden Pirate Birthday

This year was Carson's golden birthday because he turned 7 on Sept. 7th so we had a friends party with a pirate theme.

then we made them walk the plank

The pinata didn't go so well. The plastic ring that you are supposed to hang it by broke off after the first hit and everything else we tried kept breaking so we pulled out the trusty duct tape. Even that broke a few times.

then it was time for this matey to make an appearance

this is a pirate with an attitude or an Amish pirate...either way he didn't want to have his picture taken.

In the evening our family came to have another party. We didn't do it up nearly as big as in the afternoon, but we enjoyed the leftover cake and Carson got to open more presents.

We had a very fun day celebrating a great boy who is lots of fun to watch as he grows.
