A few weeks ago, my parents noticed that some people who live across the lake had knocked their tree house down. They inquired about it and the people said that if we could get it out of their yard, we could have it. So, my Dad - loving a good challenge - was sure we could do it. He thought that if we started working on it about 9am on a Saturday we could be done by noon. Well, we were there on a Saturday staring about 9am and we finally left their house about 3:30pm. It was much harder to take apart than we expected and then we had to carry the floor, 4 sides and 2 pieces of roof (we cut it in half so it was not so heavy - it is a shingled roof, of course) up their huge hill of a back yard.
But....we did it and got it to our house.

This is how it looked on the trailer as it sat in our yard for 1 week.

We set it on 4 posts that were sunk into the ground.

Carson in the tree house for the first time.

Cooper had to make sure that Grandpa had the nail gun put together just right.

We got the first roof piece on and realized that we should have put the other one up first. So we put that one back on the ground and put the other one up. The guys loved the extra lifting!

We got it all up and put together in much less time then it took to take it apart.

The people who owned the tree house before said that they had their building company who built their house build this for them also. So it has a trap door in the floor, wood siding, 2 windows and a shingled roof.
We are very thankful for my Dad's persistance and that he knows what he is doing as he fixes it up to replace the broken boards and fill the cracks. The boys (Carson and Chuck) are very excited about many sleepouts in the new tree house.

Very Cool. Teri--I am so sorry I forgot to send Bryan over to help on Saturday. We talked about it and he was very willing. I hope it went well. It looks great!
The chiropractor bill (for Scott) is in the mail... :)

How cool! Carson will have so many good times up in that house. Looks like a ton of work. Good thing you had that Heagle boy to help.
