Christmas 2013

We had another great Christmas this year. It is so fun to see the kids excitement and hear them talking about traditions that they remember and are anticipating.

We started the morning with their stockings.

Then moved on to what was under the tree.

Cooper was very excited to get his own watch.

Later in the morning, we went to Grandma & Grandpa's house for the rest of the day. We had an added adventure this year because they were without power for 4 1/2 days including Christmas day.

We have a bit of a rivalry.

Here we have a hip-hop elf

Kendal saw Spiderman slippers in the store one day early in Dec and decided she wanted them for Christmas. Whenever she heard anyone talking about a wish list she would say that she wanted Spiderman slippers, snowman pajamas and Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

When she opened this box and saw the Spiderman slippers, she got a huge smile on her face. She wears them often and likes to show us how fast they make her run.

With no power for a few days, my parents had to get a little creative. This was one of 3 "refrigerators". Chuck cooked the ham for lunch in an oil-less fryer and we enjoyed a nice candle light/ flashlight dinner that night. We also had to schedule bathroom trips to my sisters house during the day. With a little flexibility we had a great day.

You know how China has an animal designated for each year and there is special significance for babies born that year depending on what animal it is? Well, in our house this was the year of Minnie Mouse. These are all the things Kendal got for Christmas that have Minnie Mouse on them. When someone asks her what she got for Christmas she says, "Minnie Mouse"...basically, that sums it up. I don't know if there is any special significance with Minnie, but Kendal is enjoying her new things.
