Our temporary pets

For Cooper's birthday he got a butterfly habitat and the information to order caterpillars. We ordered them and they arrived in these...

5 caterpillars in each container.

It took about 2 weeks until they started to form cocoons....

Once they were all cocoons we transferred them to the habitat to wait for the butterflies.


A few days later we had butterflies flying around...contained in the habitat of course. All 10 caterpillars became butterflies.

We kept them for almost a week and then we released them in the backyard. What a fun experience...thanks Aunt Becky!
