gone fishin'

My dad called the other day to see if we wanted to take the boys fishing. He said that the lake is very clear right now and the fish must be nesting under the dock and boat hoist because he could see lots of them down there. So we took him up on the offer.

Daddy & Cooper trying to catch one.

reeling one in...

Carson's first fish.

Mommy caught one too.

Cooper liked touching the fish and watching them flop.

We caught 13 fish altogether. Chuck cleaned them and then he and my Mom fried them for dinner.

Carson had a great time and decided that he needed his own fishing pole. (He had seen one in Target that he thought should be his...he said he could even show us the aisle it was in.) So the next night Chuck and Carson headed to Target. They couldn't fine the one Carson had seen before, but they were able to find one that would work just fine.

practicing off the front steps....of course

yesterday we headed back to Grandma & Grandpa's and Carson had to bring his own pole.

digging for worms...which Carson won't touch.

We didn't catch any yesterday, but Carson is excited about trying for more thoughout the summer.
